The French Alps...

All I can say is wow. So I went up to the French Alps - Isola 2000 - on Friday for a day trip with two friends and ended up staying for 2 days. It was great, we had a blast. It was nice to finally get to ski again - I hadn't been in so long. But I regained my ski legs and just jumped right into it. It was so nice up there we actually ended up skiing in our t-shirts and suntanning to end the day on Friday. Such is life I guess. Still don't know how I'm ever going to make myself come home - sorry kids but living the dream life of waking up to the sun coming up over the Alps, spending the day skiing in the sun, and then coming home 2.5 hours later to the beach.... Anyways - pictures below - check'm out.

Day Trips from Home

So spent the weekend laying by the pool and took a day trip into Monaco which is amazing by the way. Pictures are below but really don't do it justice. What I wouldn't give for one of the yachts in the harbor - WOW!

Firenze and London

OK, so finally an update. Here are the pictures from Spring Break - Florence (aka: Firenze) and London.

Although London ended on an unhappy note (as most/all of you probably know I got the news of my grandfather's passing there and ended up flying back to Cali for 2 weeks from there); But anyways... London was a blast got to see Chris, Heather, and Eileen. Did all the touristy stuff like Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, Harrods, etc. Although I think the best part of the trip was the day trip/AU field trip I got to go on up to Oxford and Blenheim Palace.

Florence was by far however my favorite place I have visited so far. I think it even beats Paris. After a long train ride and a couple detours due to strikes we got in to Florence late Thursday night. We dropped our stuff off at our hostel and went to go find something to eat around midnight. Found this great little pizzeria still open and were finally enjoying a meal and some pinot grigio when we were first introduced to the phenomenon that is italian men. This group of guys walks by our little window, comes back walks by again and then decided to come into the pizzeria just to say to us "bona sexy." We (my two roomates who I was traveling with) and I then proceded to get hit on every 2.3 seconds while in Italy. While great for the ego, not why I enjoyed Florence so much. We got to see so much while in Florence - the Duomo, the Uffizi, we had a private tour of the secret passages of Catherine de Medici in Palazzo Vecchio. It was amazing. So many beautiful churches like Santa Croce while Machiavalli and Michelangelo's tombs (among others) and the frescos of Annuciata. We of course enjoyed some gelato (acutally for breakfast one morning) and lots of pastas and even more bruschetta. I got to see Debbie while I was there and had lots of fun with her. I can't wait for my next Italian adventure in a couple weeks when I go to Rome for Easter!

First Mini-French Adventure

So I went to France for the first time today. So no, I didn't travel thousands of miles for a one way trip - I went to the French Consulate to get my Visa. But technically its French soil. And if if the French people there are any indication of how nice the French are, I'm in for a great semester. Everyone there was so nice and helpful - I had my visa in 20 minutes. I even spoke a little French and didn't make a fool of myself Woo Hoo!! Then on the way back took the Georgetown shuttle and the driver was from french speaking Africa. He saw where I had come from obviously so he decided to help me practice my French as well. Apparently I understand quite well but need to work on my past tense verbs. LOL. So now its official - I'm off to France in 16 days with onlyl 2 finals, 1 test, and a paper standing in my way!!
